The common term that is used in the mining industry and by mining manufacturers to describe this off-highway mining truck is haul truck which is designed to haul heavy dirt, coal, ore, rocks and other materials. This type of truck is used in many applications but is most common to the aggregate, miming, and road building industries. The advantages of its performance depend on its engine size, transmission type, tire size, and payload capacity. Usually it carries loads between 100 to 300 tons and ever empty is too heavy for public roads.
Because of its big size it is transported to the job sites into several parts to be reassembled again. Although this truck is designed to move on unpaved roads, its suspension maybe can be ruined because of a twisted or cracked frame in the case of an uneven road. That is why it must be driven on smooth surfaces in order to run. There are two types of this truck which can run either mechanically or electrically, and varies in its number of tires. With the assistance of a huge excavator is loaded and it unload from either its underside, or from the rear.
